When will it end? When will the state of disaster emergency end? What are the criteria being used to determine when this eternal emergency will be over? According to C.R.S. 24-33.5-704-4 of the Colorado Revised Statutes which stipulate the emergency powers for Emperor Polis, the threat of disaster has to be imminent. Arguably, we were there in March 2020, but are we really still there now? “Cases are spiking!”

In June 2020, the General Assembly minority sponsored HCR20-1002 to terminate the emergency, but unfortunately it was voted down by the majority, so we are STILL in this mess! We appreciate their efforts, but meanwhile The People are languishing under the tyranny as deaths continue to remain relatively flat despite “spiking cases.”

And with nearly 13,000 hospital beds in Colorado, only 686 current COVID hospitalizations statewide do not constitute an overwhelmed healthcare system at all! If our healthcare system was truly in danger of being overwhelmed, then why deconstruct two field hospitals when cases were already “spiking” as of October 6th? Mind you, NONE of the three multi-million dollar facilities have been used for a single patient!

Additionally, to date, only 471 ventilators have been in use at one time in Colorado since the beginning of this epidemic, and we have 9,000-10,000 available ventilators! Again, there is no overwhelm in our healthcare system! It’s all lies and fearmongering!

But even so, as cases are rising, once again Polis is crying wolf that according to his modeling, hospitals will be exceed their capacity by the end of the year. This is the same modeling that errantly predicted 33,200 COVID deaths by June 1st if no measures were taken! Just like the Imperial College model dreamed up by Neil Ferguson which projected 2.2 million COVID deaths in the United States. While the models of the latter were quickly dismissed, those of the former have not– Polis is STILL clinging to projection models created by Jonathan Samet! Why? Because he can perpetuate the fear and immense collateral damage to our state! If that wasn’t his motive, long ago he would have wisely taken into consideration the data from other states and countries that did not implement such drastic measures and whose data show the same or better results with regard to COVID deaths per capita!

When will it end? When will this state of disaster emergency end? What are the criteria being used to determine when this eternal emergency will be over? Ask Emperor Polis and his Expert Emergency Epidemic Response Committee (GEEERC)! Here’s how:

  1. Call and/ or email Polis and GEERC
  2. Attend remote GEEERC meetings which are open to the public
  3. Write a script (like the sample phone campaigns in our previous blog) about ONE issue and which contains a request for a response from your official by phone or email.

This needs to be done PERSISTENTLY– call or email DAILY if you can! And while you’re at it, why not ask your county officials the same question as well?

Meanwhile, get out there and VOTE YOUR VALUES by November 3rd– together we can flip a few seats in the Colorado Legislature so that with a Republican majority, we can re-sponsor a bill like HR20-1002.

Also sign a Recall Polis 2020 petition! Find a location here. We need 633,266 signatures, and we have around 600,000 signatures already. But we need a nice cushion of extra signatures since the Secretary of State will disqualify about 10-30%. Time is of the essence! Petitions will be called in on November 8th so we can begin counting and verification.
