“Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day.” The meaning is simple: important work takes time and requires patience. In The Blueprint, you can read about how Jared Polis and his minions have been patiently working over the course of the last two decades to reach this crescendo in Colorado history: complete control over The People and the dismantling of our economy and society. Interestingly, it has been perpetrated through fear versus by sheer power alone: fear of loss… fear of illness… fear of death… fear of punishment…
We too at Keep Colorado Free & Open have been working patiently at getting Colorado counties re-opened 100%. And one step at a time, we are closing in on the goal, taking little steps forward with each event… each meeting with officials… each email sent… each meeting attended… each reminder from Constitutional advocates and practitioners of “civil obedience”… Two weeks ago on September 27th, four counties along the Front Range (Douglas, El Paso, Jefferson & Larimer) invited their Boards of Commissioners and Health to attend an event where The Resolution to re-open businesses 100% was publicly read, and our officials were asked to deliberate and return two weeks later with a response for The People. To our dismay, only one official from one county responded and attended that first event. To our delight, this one official (Douglas Commissioner Abe Laydon) not only attended but publicly responded in favor of The Resolution and expressed his intention to take The Resolution back to the other commissioners and encourage them to sign it. During these past two weeks, the commissioners have been working with the Tri-County Health Department toward completely re-opening Douglas county as the first pilot county in Colorado! And just one day before our follow-up events on Saturday, October 10, 2020, The Great Barrington Declaration was issued stating that those who are vulnerable to COVID should be protected while the rest of the society should resume life as normal. The goal is to reach herd immunity worldwide! To date, nearly 500,000 concerned citizens and over 30,000 medical and public health scientists and medical practitioners have signed The Declaration. Woo-hoo! Baby steps… “Rome wasn’t built in a day!”
Sunday, October 11th was the second event where we awaited a response from our officials. Since Douglas county is already on their way with the support and cooperation of their officials, they did not hold a second event. Jefferson county also did not hold a follow-up event but instead will be pursuing a vocal attendance at public meetings held by their county officials. El Paso & Larimer counties proceeded with their events to hear from their officials, and this time they hand delivered the invitations and requested an RSVP and a representative to be sent if the officials themselves could not attend. Although neither county nor state officials attended the El Paso event, there were several favorable responses received from them:
Commissioners
o Holly Williams – supports our efforts
o Stan VanderWerf – knows about the Resolution but was not prepared to sign it. Will not attend but is glad to meet with the “Keep Colorado Free and Open” leadership to discuss other measures the Commissioners are taking
Senators & Representatives
o Senator Owen Hill – cannot attend, but supports the movement
o Senator Dennis Hisey – “in support”
o Representative Lois Landgraf – was initially planning to attend
o Representative Larry Liston- made an effort to attend, supports the movement
o Senator Paul Lundeen – supports our movement
o Representative Dave Williams – “supports reopening Colorado”
Board of Health – disappointingly, no response
Unfortunately, Larimer county residents did not receive the same encouragement from the majority of their officials. Instead these civil servants responded that they did not plan to attend nor formally consider The Resolution. On the bright side, Steve Johnson did respond that he will still attend our October 20th Community Action Meeting where he will address the group and tell us what the commissioners ARE doing to support us. Thank you, Steve! We very much look forward to hearing from Commissioner Johnson at that event!
Meanwhile, at the follow-up event in Larimer county on October 11th, we had a strong attendance of about 100 residents, and our MC Kevin Lundberg did an excellent job of presenting current COVID data as well as the impact of restrictions on local businesses due to COVID. He also shared about Unmasked2020 which documents the destruction Colorado since Jared Polis took office as governor in 2018. Karen Kataline then delivered a powerful speech about what being an American means to her. Former legislator Lundberg then resumed control of the microphone and explained the next steps that The People can take to continue to apply pressure toward re-opening Larimer county without restrictions:
o Re-open businesses en masse in defiance of the mandates – “civil obedience” – ENFORCE the Constitution:

o Email your officials – every single day if you can, one question at a time: ,Drip, Drip, Drip…
o Attend board meetings of officials: citizens can speak for 2 minutes— we are working on a script to help if you are interested.
o El Paso:
· Board of Health: Wednesdays, once a month at 8:00 a.m. at the Citizens Service
Center, 1675 W. Garden of the Gods Road. Next meeting is October 28, 2020, then
December 16, 2020.
· Board of Commissioners: Watch live meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00
a.m.
o Larimer:
· Board of Health: 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Larimer County
Courthouse Offices Building, 200 W. Oak St, Fort Collins.
· The time, date, and location of meetings are subject to change. Changes will be noted
on the meeting agenda posted one week prior to the meeting. Meetings are open to
the public.

While you wait for our next event, remember to be patient with the process and continue to be diligent in applying consistent pressure upon your officials. Jared Polis did not become a dictator in one day; he did methodical groundwork for 20 years, then he patiently moved the chess pieces into place before COVID “hit” Colorado, at which point he pounced into action so as to not allow a crisis to go to waste! It will take time to undo the damage he has done, but we are making progress and will continue to do so if we don’t give up! DeThrone Polis! Recall Polis 2020!
